When fall arrives, some of the showiest summer blooms fade away. But the late season garden offers all these flower shapes from just one plant: the chrysanthemum.

These hanging containers holds colorful orange mums, for a soft
fall effect.

Hardy fall mums, sometimes called mumingtons or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae.

This sidewalk island in front of the Chicago river holds hardy mums, ornamental kale, delicate ferns and purple ornamental millet for gorgeous fall color throughout the season.

Available in dozens of exciting varieties, mums bloom for weeks, and the sheer number of brightly colored flowers per plant will leave no doubt as to why mums are such a favorite for filling containers and flower beds.

Bright purple and yellow mums with green kale have a dramatic effect to this entrance.

Instant impact! That’s what you’ll get when you put a generous helping of mums in your flower border or containers.

Mums provide a fall finale of color to any setting. They come in a wide variety of flower colors and shapes, from small button-sized blooms to giant corsage-worthy flowers.
