A Two-Decade Journey with Rosalind Franklin University

client diaries

As we commemorate two decades of partnership with Rosalind Franklin University, we are thrilled to share the remarkable journey chronicled in our client diaries. Since April 1, 2004, we’ve had the honor of tending to the 97-acre medical school campus, nestled in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Let’s dive into the narrative of growth, challenges, and triumphs that have defined our shared commitment to excellence and sustainability.

The Campus Canvas

Our canvas is a 97-acre masterpiece, featuring 48 acres of meticulously groomed campus and 20 acres of non-permeable parking lot. From the tree-lined landscapes to dormitories, interconnected educational buildings, sports fields, and more, our mission is clear — to create a serene environment where students can thrive academically while embracing the natural surroundings as a home away from home.

Sustainable Practices:

Embracing a mission of environmental stewardship, we’ve implemented actions such as creating protected areas, replanting trees, and reducing harmful activities. Despite strict budget constraints, we proudly uphold our commitment to sustainability, maintaining a 9-hole disc golf course, fitness course, ponds, waterfalls, and more with the utmost care.

Challenges Overcome:

Navigating challenges as good stewards of the land, we’ve minimized chemical usage, worked around student schedules, and collaborated seamlessly with the Department of Defense. Operating in restricted access areas requires careful planning, and our team, with over 15 years of on-site experience, has overcome every obstacle to ensure the continuity of the learning environment.

A Symphony of Success:

The explosion of the goose population in Northern Illinois presented a unique challenge. Through innovation and collaboration, we implemented a “geese police” system, enlisting collies to manage the population and maintain the pristine condition of the turf.

The Human Touch:

Our dedicated team, including an account manager, landscape designer, and crew members with over 15 years on-site, has been the backbone of our success. Working in harmony with contractors, military authorities, and security details, we’ve transformed challenges into opportunities for growth.
