Tom Kelly, ASLA Vice President

Tom Kelly, Vice President for Balanced Environments, Inc., has been in the landscape industry since the age of 16 working in a garden center in his home town of Saratoga, NY. Tom attended the State University of New York at Cobleskill graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design. He then transferred to Mississippi State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Contracting and Architecture with a minor in Landscape Management. Tom was the first student in the United States to receive a minor degree in Landscape Management; a program initiated by the Head of Mississippi State Landscape Contracting Department, Bob Calloway.

Tom ran his own landscape company on the west coast of Florida for 10 years until he and his wife Pati moved to the Chicago area in 1997 and has been involved in commercial landscape contracting in Chicagoland ever since.
